Hospitality creates 25,000 jobs

The number of people out of work in the UK fell by 133,000 to a five-year low of 2.2million, in the three months to March, official figures show.

The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) reported that employment in ‘accommodation and food services’ is up 5.4% year-on-year to a total of 1.573million jobs. So far this year, the trade association claims that 25,000 new jobs have been added.

There has also been a 9.3% increase in the amount of men who have been hired by the sector in the last year, which shows further confidence and strength in the sector.
