HIT Training executive chairman awarded CBE

John Hyde, executive chairman of HIT Training, the national apprenticeship provider to the hospitality industry, has been awarded a CBE for his services to apprenticeships in the hospitality and care sectors. Hyde, who has more than 30 years’ experience in work-based learning in the hospitality industry, received the award at Buckingham Palace. Hyde was instrumental in founding the Association of Employment and Learning Providers and establishing HIT Training. Since the company was co-founded in 2006 by Hyde and managing director Jill Whittaker, it has steadily grown and supported more than 100,000 learners and apprentices at more than 22,000 employer sites.
