Are you a student or apprentice and wondering what it’s truly like to work in hospitality? Why not register to take part in Nestle Professional’s competition Toque d’Or. Be sure to register soon as applications close on 22nd November 2019.
Nestle Professional Toque d’Or is a challenging but extremely rewarding competition that will push students and apprentices to new heights in their career. Established in 1989, the competition continues to be considered as a highly influential and prestigious training and development initiative within the hospitality industry.
It is a great opportunity for competitors to follow in the footsteps of reputable professionals such as James Martin, British chef and television presenter, best known for BBC cookery series Saturday Kitchen and Anton Mosimann, Swiss chef and restaurateur, previously Maitre Chef des Cuisines at the Dorchester Hotel for 13 years. The competition will test candidates across a range of areas from presentation skills to nutritional knowledge whilst developing their practical experience at each stage of the competition.
Not to mention, entries are open for both front and back-of-house roles. A two-minute video is required for students and apprentices to submit presenting a vegan dish for back-of-house or the candidate creating and presenting a coffee-based drink for front-of-house applicants. Successful candidates will then progress to through to the National Heats and then the Grand Final with an awards ceremony taking place in June 2020.
