This year’s Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase was hosted by Alun Cairns MP, who is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group.
Mr Cairns enjoyed welcoming apprentices and companies within the hospitality industry to raise awareness of rewarding and sustainable careers within the industry to other MPs, Lords and Ladies.
During the event, Mr Cairns spoke about working within hospitality, saying:
“It’s a hugely exciting area and everybody seems to have a good time in the sector, and it seems like a great place to work. But more importantly, it offers great career prospects, good salary levels, and great flexibility. There are also lots of opportunities, and room for progression. I would thoroughly recommend it.”
After hearing about the spectrum of hospitality apprenticeships during the panel session, and from the apprentices and companies attending, Alun provided his thoughts on the value and career progression offered by completing an apprenticeship with hospitality companies. He said:
“Hospitality is a great industry to do an apprenticeship in, it offers great careers, and the skills you learn are very transferable. The hospitality sector is very broad, and there is a whole range of roles available.”
The ‘HAS’ event unites companies within the industry to portray the diverse range of roles within hospitality and to reiterate the importance of cross-party support to ensure the sector continues to thrive in our towns, cities and villages.
On Alun’s involvement with the showcase, he said: “It is a great joy to be involved with this sector and event because it is about people enjoying themselves whilst doing it responsibly and having great careers from it as well. It illustrates the number of opportunities available and the support provided by businesses and training providers.”
We were very thrilled to work alongside Alun Cairns MP, Stonegate Group, Greene King, Marston’s Plc, Mitchells & Butlers, Fuller, Turner & Smith P.L.C, Beds and Bard, HIT Training, Umbrella Training, Butlins and UK Hospitality, to make the Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase a success and raise awareness.
